The 2023 CA ProStart Cup
March 7 - March 8
March 7th and March 8th at the Long Beach Convention Center, the California Restaurant Association and various other supporters will host the 2023 Pro Start Cup Competition, with over 23 high schools competing for major scholarships, awards, and prizes.
We have one of our own San Diego County Schools competing – Vista High School with Chef Kim Plunkett. She is the Chef instructor, has won several competitions, and was awarded the Chef Instructor of the Year with Pro Start. Here is the website for the article.

The CA ProStart Cup is more than a cooking competition – it’s a life-changing experience! Imagine being 16 years old and pitching a new restaurant concept to a panel of restaurateurs. Or having a crowd of people watch you as you put the finishing touches on a three-course meal. This is a life-changing event!
